Our church has a lot of people who don’t own computers. So we streamed the pictures posted on the blog so everyone could see. The pictures were a big hit and everyone is looking forward to hearing more when the group returns.
On our last night, it was time to let loose a little. Some went to the “80’s Dance.” How do these kids know all these great, classic songs? I think this is so great! The music of my youth lives on! Pastor Stefan
Some of the guys went into the inflatable boxing ring, and pummelled each other with huge, oversized boxing gloves. Stephen and Alex punched on each other pretty good! But they were seen shaking hands as they emerged. Great sportsmanship!
I thought it was interesting that the ELCA chose Friday night’s Final 15’s verse Micah 6:8, which reads: “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Is it just me or does this flashy, expensive stage and light show seem to be about the least humble way of praising God? To me this says that we have lots money and we’re trying to be hip and exciting; don’t get me wrong, it’s very impressive. But it’s an interesting juxtaposition because I see a divergence in what the Bible is saying here and what the Youth Gathering is doing.
How does this extremely extensive use of very exciting, flashy, expensive elements help us with our mission here?
“Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 2:5).
Please respond because I am very interested to read people’s responses.

Pig Ears!
These were good but it was more of a textural experience rather than a very unique flavor. Very crispy and tasty.
